We've had a false spring the past couple days. Yesterday it was 60 degrees out and sunny, and today the forecast high is 51. However, tomorrow it's supposed to be 32 and it's supposed to snow later this week.

Reasons I want it to be spring:

  • I want to see our trees in bloom
  • I want to see our daffodils, tulips, and crocuses bloom (they are already poking their stems above the ground)
  • I want to get our veggie garden started
  • I want to plant out the pansies and snapdragons that are growing in the basement right now (they are just cute little seedlings at the moment)
  • I want to be able to go for a walk outside without wearing my big heavy coat and freezing
  • I want to be able to go for a walk outside without worrying about slipping on ice
  • I want to eat a nice big salad with yummy fresh strawberries in it (that is admittedly a little more of a wish for summer than spring)
  • I am tired of winter food (stews, soups, extra hearty fare)
  • I want to be able to go out and do more active outdoor stuff on the weekends
  • I want to be able to eat my lunch outside at work
  • I want to open the windows in our house
  • I want to be warm

In other news, the homeowner's association finally approved our fence application, so we mailed in the deposit today and in a couple months we should have a fence installed! Once that's in place we get to go adopt a dog, which I am totally excited about.

In other other news, we hosted this month's dinner meetup group and did a North African/Middle Eastern theme. Everything turned out great and we had a really good time. Ben was worried when we bought four pounds of lamb stew meat that it would be way too much food, but after all was said and done there was about half a cup of lamb left (we had 11 people total).

I am so with you on the spring thing. We had two days of >70 weather this weekend, and then bam, today it is 30 and ugly out. I hope our daffodils, which are also peeking out of the ground, don't freeze this week!

We had two nice days this weekend - yesterday it got over 70. But today it's back in the 30s. =( I hope our daffodils survive the cold weather!

I'd like to open the windows and enjoy the fresh air, too. One day it will happen!
