So I'm thinking of attending a Japanese conversation group next weekend. The thing is that I'm afraid I've forgotten so much that I won't be able to hold a conversation. I know there is no way I could explain my job and I might be able to explain what my company does vaguely. I think I still know how to talk about my family, where I live, and say that I'm getting married soon.
It kind of bugs me that I still remember words like "sekigaisen" (infrared rays) and "katsuobushikezuri" (electric bonito shaver) which are totally useless, but forget obvious things like "okuru" (to send, which I had to look up). I guess this is why I should go to a conversation group though, so I will not forget the little I have left. Hopefully they won't make me do a jikoshoukai.
