Aug. 6th, 2007 06:05 pmSo, this morning I woke up with an itchy rash all over the side of my face. I'm thinking it's probably an allergic reaction to some bathroom cleaning liquids I was using yesterday. It's a little uncomfortable, but probably no big deal, and I just happened to have a regular dermatologist appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning anyway.
This afternoon when we got home we had a notice in our mailbox saying that at least six people in our subdivision have been infected with CA-MRSA, which is an antibiotic-resistant staph infection in the skin.
Anyway, from the description I don't think that's what I have, but it's still kind of freaky. I will definitely take the notice with me when I go to the dermatologist tomorrow morning just in case. Now the question is whether they're going to cancel the community ice cream social scheduled for tomorrow night -- the notice is all about how this is fast-spreading and can rapidly become life-threatening and you should avoid crowds, etc.
