I had a dream last night that I was pregnant, and I was trying to work from home because the pregnancy was making my belly hurt. Then I woke up and realized my belly did actually hurt (too many beans the past few days...), thus being the root of the dream. At least this one made more sense than a dream I had several years ago, where I dreamt that I had to take a dog for a walk because if I did, my stomach would stop hurting, and I woke up with a terrible stomach ache.
Speaking of dogs, we "rescued" a dog yesterday. I don't mean we got a dog from a shelter, I mean we found a dog wandering around the neighborhood and returned him to his owner. We were coming back from the grocery store when we saw this big chocolate lab (I think) running around near the entrance to the subdivision, with no leash or owner in sight. I could see he had a collar on though so we pulled over and went to see if there was an address or something on his tags. He had two tags, one with a phone number for his microchip service and one with the vet's name and number and another name and number on the other side. I called that number first and left a message with my cell number saying I found their dog and they should call me back. Then I called the microchip number, hoping they'd have an address, but they just had the vet's phone number. So I called the vet, but they were closed on Sundays and I didn't think this counted as an "emergency" since the dog looked like he'd only been out for a little while, not like he'd been wandering for days or anything. After I hung up I got a call back from someone saying he got my message and would come right over to get the dog. Apparently he was dogsitting and had been in the yard with the dog, then went inside for a few minutes, and the dog wandered off. He hadn't gotten very far, only a couple blocks, so I am guessing the guy probably hadn't even realized the dog was gone yet. Anyway the dog was returned and all was well. He was a really cute dog too, super friendly. He was drooling all over when we found him and seemed kind of freaked out. I think he wandered off, then got lost and couldn't find his way back and got worried (thus the drooling). He was very happy when we came to see him and calmed down almost immediately.
Next week we're taking the 2nd and 3rd off and having a 5-day weekend. I can't wait! Time for some relaxing...
