mystery diagnosis
Jun. 1st, 2007 12:38 pmMystery Diagnosis is one of my favorite shows on Discovery Health Channel. It's basically like a reality TV version of House -- person has totally random, seemingly unrelated symptoms, doctors try to figure out what's wrong with them. However, watching it makes me always think I have some deadly disease.
For example, on the last episode I saw, there was a woman who appeared to have adult onset asthma, a skin rash/hives, and carpal tunnel syndrome. It turned out she had some weird autoimmune disease that elevated her eosinophil levels. If things like that can happen, it makes me think any random symptoms that I have might be some weird disease, instead of just a bunch of unrelated things.
