random rant

There is something that always bothers me about going to the dentist (I went this morning, which is why I'm thinking of it). Where are you supposed to look while the dentist is messing around in your mouth? When I was a kid I used to look at the reflection of my mouth in the hygenist's safety glasses, until one of them made an offhand remark that made me realize they thought I was just looking at them which was rude. Today I tried to look at the ceiling but it's really annoying to try to find something to look at. Do dentists notice what you're looking at?

In other news, I have not gotten nearly enough sleep lately and it is showing big time. Too bad I won't get much of a respite for a few weeks.
