So (the Colts) winning the Superbowl was almost anticlimactic after the excitement two weeks ago of coming back from 21-3 at halftime to barely beat the Patriots. I guess the Colts do better when they get their asses whooped in the first quarter. The poor dog (Ben's parents' dog) had to spend the evening mostly locked up in the laundry room (where she has food, water, and a doggie bed) since she gets so worked up when people are screaming and yelling and cheering at the TV. It was like, Colts get a touchdown, dog has to run outside and bark her head off.
Anyway, much food was had, it was quite tasty, and we managed to get away with leaving all the leftovers at Ben's parents' house. We had a weird sound issue with the commercials though -- the vocal track was missing on all of the careerbuilder.com commercials! It must have something to do with the surround sound.
Funniest thing about the local team winning the superbowl: Indianapolis Public Schools have school canceled today because too many bus drivers called in "sick!" At least one of my coworkers is taking a vacation day to celebrate, and a good number of people who usually are here by now have not shown up yet. I guess there's a big parade or something downtown this afternoon, so we should get to see pictures on the news tonight.
In other non-football-related news, Ben and I joined a real gym! Finally. It's about five minutes from my office and is a pretty good deal. I can't really take the group classes yet since my arm is still in a splint but I'm looking forward to doing it when I can. For now I get to play with their brand new total body crossramp (kind of a cross between an elliptical and a stair climber).
In other other news, it is absolutely OMG freezing. Holy crap. -5 not counting the windchill. My mom called me yesterday and said it was 80 degrees back home.
