WTF, mate?

Do I give off "Jennifer" vibes or something? Why does everyone seem to think my name is Jennifer? I sent an email to a mailing list today, signed it "Jessica" and my email address puts in my full name for display, and yet I got a response back that starts with "Hi Jennifer." ??? Geez. My name is NOT Jennifer. You'd think if you were answering someone's email you would at least make sure you got their name right. Especially when your name is something weird that nobody is ever going to remember.

Aside from that, this is a recurring problem. When people meet me, they always think my name is Jennifer. A second meeting with someone almost always consists of "It's Jennifer, right?" Or they will just call me Jennifer and assume they are right. Or even during a first meeting, I will introduce myself as Jessica and then get called Jennifer. Argh! Why is this so hard for people? Should I wear a name tag or something? Even worse, someone must have been reading Sweet Valley High or something, because I recently met someone who decided my name was Elizabeth! When I corrected her and said it was Jessica, I then got called Jennifer for the rest of our meeting!
